4 Lake Tahoe Area Campgrounds Ready to View

We’ve recently added new campsite photos for 4 Lake Tahoe area campgrounds that include Chapman Creek, Lake Forest, Salmon Creek, and Tahoe SRA. All 4 campgrounds are at about 6,000 feet elevation and are well shaded among the lodgepole pine and cedar trees. In addition to camping, you’ll find a variety of outdoor activities here including: fishing, boating, sailing, swimming, hiking, biking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, and gold panning.

Chapman Creek – Tahoe National Forest
Chapman Creek Campground is broken up into two loops, one overlooks Chapman Creek and the other is next to a small meadow. There are 21 campsites and all are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings and food storage lockers. The campground has vault toilets and drinking water. Chapman Creek is about 5 miles away from Sardine Lake, a popular fishing, boating, and swimming lake. Sardine Lake Resort also offers boat rentals.

Lake Forest – Muni Tahoe City Campground
Lake Forest Campground is located in North Lake Tahoe, less than a mile away from Lake Forest Beach. The campground has vault toilets and drinking water. It does not have hookups, showers or a dump station. All 20 campsites have a table, fire ring and grill. Lake Forest Campground is a first come first served basis. Keep in mind, this campsite is not for everyone it falls more on the raw side of camping (it needs a little TLC). This is a great one night stay or for campers who enjoy the lack of amenities.

Also, each campsite has a table, fire ring, grill, and food storage locker. The campground has vault toilets and drinking water. Salmon Creek is high up on the mountain and central to all of the lakes in the Sierra buttes – making Salmon Creek Campground a fisherman’s heaven. The campground is very popular and campers are highly encouraged to make reservations in advance.
