Eightmile campground is first-come, first-serve and is set in a beautiful and secluded area along a creek in the Mt. Hood National Forest. The campground has 19 single-family campsites under a dense forest of conifers and near the 44 Trail System.

McNeil

McNeil Campground is first-come, first-serve and has 34 campsites along the Clear Fork of the Sandy River. There is no water, but the campground has vault toilets. You can also purchase firewood from the friendly camp host.  The popular Ramona Falls Trailhead is also nearby.

Most of Nottingham’s 23 campsites are right next to the East Fork of the Hood River. It’s also a popular campground and reservations are recommended. There is no water available so be sure to bring some.

This is a small and secluded primitive campground with 4 spacious first-come, first-serve campsites. It’s in a beautiful area along a creek and set among tall conifers. Mountain biking, hiking and ATVing are popular activities.

Riley Horse Camp

There are 14 campsites here and 11 have horse corrals. The campground is located close to Lost Creek and near the Sandy River. Trails in the area include the Cast Creek Trail, Zigzag Mountain Trail, Horseshoe Ridge Trail and the Sandy River Trail.

Still Creek is the closest campground to Mt. Hood and has 27 single-family campsites next to Still Creek. Visitors can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great with opportunities to see many forest creatures.

Just 32 miles southeast of Portland, Tollgate campground has 15 single-family campsites along the Zig Zag River. The river will lull you to sleep each night and you can get up the next morning for some fine fishing. Mixed use trails are also near the camp.

The campground is next to Trillium Lake and in a nice mixed conifer forest. Reservations are recommended, but there are several walk-in (first-come, first-serve) sites available. The small town of Government Camp is nearby if you need supplies. Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and mountain biking, to name a few.
