We’ve recently added campsite photos for three must-visit Kentucky State Parks including Columbus-Belmont, John James Audubon and Pennyrile Forest. All of the State Parks are in the beautiful Kentucky settings and have a variety of outdoor activities including: fishing, hiking, golfing, marinas, tennis courts, horseback riding, swimming, biking, exploring historic sites, wildlife viewing and more. These campgrounds are perfect and popular for large groups and families. In addition, rain or shine, summer or winter, all campgrounds are open year round. We suggest campers to make reservations ahead of time to ensure their stay among these popular State Parks.
Columbus-Belmont State Park
Columbus-Belmont State Park is located on a bluff above the famous Mississippi River (aka – Ol’ Man River, The Big Muddy, Old Blue, The Gathering of Waters or “misi-ziibi”, the Algonquin word meaning Great River). There are 38 large sites for tents, trailers and RVs, as well as two camping trailers and a log cabin available to reserve by contacting Columbus-Belmont campground directly. The park is the site of a Confederate fortification built during the Civil War and offers a variety of exhibits and a museum. In addition, the park has a picnic area, miniature golf, playground, and hiking trails. A boat ramp is also nearby allowing for access to the Mississippi River.
John James Audubon State Park
John James Audubon State Park is located just south of the Ohio river. John James Audubon himself walked these grounds as he studied many of the subjects featured in his paintings. The parks main feature attraction is the John James Audubon Museum and Nature Center. There are a total of 88 sites that can accommodate tents, RVs and trailers. All of the 71 RV/trailers sites have electric hookups and there are also 17 tent-only sites. The park also has a golf course, gift shop, visitor center, lake, hiking trails, picnic area, tennis courts, recreation center, docks and equipment rentals.

There Pennyrile Lodge (with 24 rustic rooms) and 13 cottages are also available to reserve.
