We’re kicking off the 2013 camping season with another photo trip to personally visit and take photographs of each campsite at more than 100 campgrounds around the United States!
The trip, scheduled for mid-March through mid-October, will consist of our photographer driving over 10,000 miles through nine states, including California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wyoming. Our photographer will personally camp at many of the campgrounds he visits, providing first hand information and tips from the road to you on the CampsitePhotos.com blog, through Facebook and on Twitter.
The six-month adventure will return photos of around 15,000 individual campsites for indexing on CampsitePhotos.com, where users can already browse over 85,000 campsites. Our site has developed into a valuable resource for campers and outdoor enthusiasts, helping everyday people like you make a more informed decision when making a reservation. As with previous photo trips, this one will add some very popular campgrounds to the site, including all of the campgrounds at Yellowstone National Park.
In 2012, we added 295 campgrounds to our website, a major jump for us after adding 163 in 2011. Our goal is to find, photograph and index as many campgrounds in the United States as possible. We launched in 2009 with 20 campgrounds in just a few states and after this year we anticipate having over 900 campgrounds in 42 states!
So stay tuned, we’ll be sharing photo updates and posts as we go!
