Halfway Group Overview

Halfway Group Campground has 5 group campsites and is located on the Wild & Scenic Upper Kern River about 4 miles north of Kernville. The campground is open year-round.

Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. There are no campsite tables or drinking water. Group sites 3, 4 and 5 also have a shade shelter.

Halfway Group – Area Recreation

Campers can enjoy a variety of outdoor recreation including river rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Avenue of the Giants is also about 50 miles up the road and features a stand of giant Sequoia trees.

Other established campgrounds in the area are Camp Three and Headquarters. You may also like Thunderbird Group as another option.
