Yukwah Campground has 20 spacious campsites and is located right along the South Santiam River, 21 miles east of Sweet Home, OR. Many of the campsites are waterfront and large Douglas fir are throughout the campground. Two double sites area available (5 and 14) and the rest are single-family campsites.

Campsites 1, 2 and 19 are first-come, first-serve. The rest of the sites are on the reservation system. They also release campsites for first come first serve campers if the campsite is not reserved in advance.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.  Cell service is poor in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include House Rock, Sevenmile and Trout Creek.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. The campground also has a day use shelter with a fireplace and picnic area.

The accessible Yukwah Nature Trail  that winds through the campground and picnic area. Visitors can hike or bike the Santiam Wagon Road (now a trail), a historic trail used to transport livestock east across the Cascade Mountains to central Oregon’s grasslands. Iron Mountain, Gordon Meadows and Echo Basin are also nearby hiking areas well known for their colorful wildflowers.
