Get a Campsite Availability Notification with Campsite Assist

Campsite Assist is the best way to get a campsite availability notification for campgrounds throughout the country.  Campsite Assist is a user-friendly app that will continuously scan for available campsites at the campground and for dates you want to camp. You’ll then be notified via text & email once a campsite becomes available. The notification will also include a direct link to the reservation agency so you can try and reserve the campsite.

Initially campers can keep an eye out for campsite availability at Recreation.gov and ReserveCalifornia.com campgrounds. Other reservation agency sites will be added in the near future with a goal to scan most of the campground/campsite reservations throughout the country.

Campsite Assist Is Easy To Use

Campsite Assist is easy to use and will send you a campsite availability notification as soon as a campsite becomes available.  All you have to do is fill out the online form and indicate the campground, arrival date, and number of nights you want to camp. Then choose the scanning frequency (every 3 minutes, 13 minutes or 33 minutes), and pay for the scan. Your scan will start immediately after payment and run up until your date of arrival.

Scans will include single-family campsites, but you can also search for group, ADA/handicap and equestrian campsites. You’ll also have the ability to change the date of arrival and number of nights you want to stay at any time. Your notification will also include a link to the reservation agency site so you can immediately try and reserve the campsite.

Improve Your Chances Of Getting A Campsite Availability Notification

There are a few things you can do to increase your chances of getting campsite availability alert.

1.     Choose a quicker scanning frequency (i.e. 3 minutes) – you’ll have a 10 or 30 minute jump on someone that chooses scans of 13 or 33 minutes.
2.     Try shortening the length of your stay (i.e. 2 or 3 nights vs. 6 or 7 nights).
3.     Enter an arrival date well in advance (4-6 months).
4.     Don’t wait! Once you get your alert – click on the link immediately and try to reserve the campsite. Other campers may also be trying for the same campground/dates and beat you to it!

So the next time you get shut-out of getting a campsite reservation be sure to try Campsite Assist. You absolutely will get a campsite availability notification if a campsite becomes available for the campground and dates you want to camp.

  1. I like the campsite photos but campsite assist needs work. I requested 7 days and I get 1 day notifications. I get the same email several times a day. I requested text messages and entered my phone number but have not received any texts. I was disappointed to discover my payment did not cover multiple campgrounds. I will not use again.

    • Hi Mary,
Thanks for trying Campsite Assist. We double checked and your Matrix scan/alert is working correctly. It will notify you (send an availability alert) for any campsite that is available during the date range you selected. You will continue to receive alerts as long as their is availability. This could be for one or more campsites (depending on what opens up). Remember, you can click on the link provided in your original email confirmation to go to your dashboard and stop/pause your notifications. You’re also correct in that the scans/alerts are set up for just one campground.

I $9 for notifications for Anastasia State Park for Feb 17-20 2022 and have received zero notice since. I kept checking on my own with the Florida State Park reservation system and was able to land those days without any notification from this website. A total waste of money if you ask me

    • Hi William,
We double checked and did several testes for Anastasia State Park. All systems are working and we did get alerts for sites available in February. Can you please send me an email (campranger@campsitephotos.com) and I’ll follow up more with you.

  3. Hello! Is it possible to scan the Napoli Cost / Kalalau website for camping reservations?

  4. Can I be notified when you add Arizona State Parks to the campsite assist? Thank you!
