California State Parks announced today (March 17) the temporary closure of all campgrounds in the state park system to support state and local efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).
Non-campground outdoor areas of the state parks, including trails and beaches, will remain open. Restrooms will also remain open in non-campground areas. Guided tours, large events, visitors centers and museums have also been temporarily suspended or closed.
Camping reservation holders can expect to be contacted via email for refunds.
California State Parks hopes to reopen the campgrounds later in April.
