Summer of Campgrounds Wrap up – TN, UT

CampsitePhotos.com kicked off summer with news that we would be adding new campgrounds weekly. Well, with the fall season upon us, we’re wrapping up our summer of campgrounds and believe it or not, throughout summer we brought you 36 new campgrounds. Below are the campsites we’ve added in Arizona, California and Nevada:

Tennessee (2)

Bledsoe Creek State Park
Bledsoe Creek State Park is a 164-acre site located on the Bledsoe Creek embayment of the Old Hickory Reservoir near the old 1780s settlement of Cairo. Campsites feature paved sites, new borders, fire rings, grills, lantern holders and picnic tables.

Cedars of Lebanon State Park
Named for its dense cedar forest that existed in the Biblical lands of Lebanon, this park contains 900 acres which are used for recreation outside of Nashville on the other side of J Percy Priest Reservoir.

Utah (21)

Antelope Island State Park (Bridger Bay Campground)
Antelope Island State Park is the best place to experience the Great Salt Lake, America’s Dead Sea. Home to a roaming herd of 500 bison, as well as pronghorn and bighorn sheep, the opportunities to view wildlife are abundant on backcountry trails which are open to horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking and cross-country skiing.

Big Bend Campground
Located along the Colorado river in a beautiful red rock canyon about 8 miles up river from Moab, Big Bend Campground is popular for its spectacular views of red rock cliffs amidst a green ribbon of vegetation.

Bridger Bay Campground
This primitive campsite on Antelope Island features picnic tables and fire pits/grills. Two vehicles are allowed as well as up to eight people per campsite.

Calf Creek Campground
East of Escalante, Calf Creek Recreation Site and Campground offers 14 individual camping units, five individual picnic units, a group picnic area and 2 ¾ mile (one-way) interpretive trail to the 126-foot Lower Calf Creek Falls.

Deer Creek State Park Campground
Spanning nearly 1.9 million acres of public land, Deer Creek State Park Campground offers extraordinary opportunities for exploration.

Devils Canyon Campground
Devils Canyon Campground is about half way between Monticello and Blanding, just off of U.S. Highway 191, and offers easy off and on access, well-designed sites and abundant shade – making it a favorite with campers for local campers.

Drinks Canyon Campground
Maintained by the Moab Field Office at the Bureau of Land Management, along with 20 other campgrounds, Drinks provides 17 tent sites and offers spectacular red rock cliff views.

Escalante Petrified Forest Campground
Near the quiet western town of Escalante, Escalante State Park features colorful deposits of mineralized wood and dinosaur bones. The 130-acre Wide Hollow Reservoir on the park’s boundary adds exciting water recreation and fishing.

Fruita Campground
Described as an oasis within the desert, Fruita Campground, adjacent to the Fremont River, is surrounded by historic orchards and features 71 RV/tent sites – each with a picnic table and grill.

Goblin Valley State Park Campground
Inhabited by strange and unique rock sculptures, Goblin Valley State Park contains colorful chocolate-colored balanced rocks, spires and pedestals amidst the solitude of the Great Basin Desert.

Goose Island Campground
Listed as one of the top 100 campgrounds in Utah, Goose Island Campground has 18 sites and is located along one of the most scenic sections of the Colorado River, four miles from the town of Moab.

Granstaff Campground
Located from the junction of Highway 128 and Highway 191, Greenstaff Campground is just upstream of Negro Bill Canyon and is close to where Porcupine Rim Trail – a popular route for mountain biking, joins Highway 128.

Hal Canyon Campground
Hal Canyon offers scenic and convenient campgrounds at 4,000 feet elevation with stunning views along the banks of the Colorado River. Located 6.5 miles from the junction of Highway 191.

Ken’s Lake Campground
Ken’s Lake Campground is able to accommodate even the largest motor homes just 10 miles outside of Moab. Fishing and boating in the reservoir are popular activities, as are hiking and horseback trails which originate at the campground.

Kodachcrome Basin Campground in Utah
A spectacle of massive sandstone chimneys, Kodachrome Basin is ever-changing from gray and white to shades of red with the day’s mood. This quiet and unique desert campsite is nine miles south of State Route 12 near Cannonville, and was named after Kodak Film Corporation by the National Geographical Society.

Oak Grove Campground
Located seven miles from the junction of Highway 191, Oak Grove Campground offers seven tent sites near the Colorado River with convenient access to arches, Canyonlands and the other delights of canyon country including red rock scenery, cool water in the Colorado River and world famous mountain biking, hiking, four wheel driving or river expeditions.

Quail Creek State Park Campground
With excellent year-round camping, picnicking, boating and trout and bass fishing in the sunny southwest of Utah, Quail Creek State Park provides a great place to stay 365 days/year with 23 camp/RV sites near Interstate 15.

Red Canyon Campground
Shaded by ponderosa pines, junipers and Douglas firs, Red Canyon Campground offers 35 campsites with access to spectacular views, convenient access to trails and sightseeing from May through September.

Sand Island Campground
Located in the San Juan River Valley, the Sand Island Campground provides 27 campsites suitable for any size RV, with pull-thru sites providing water, trash, picnic tables and fire rings. Temperatures in the summer can be quite hot (100+).

White Rock Group Campground
With 12 campsites available for up to 70 people, and exquisite views of the Farmington Bay and Great Salt Lake, White Rock Group Campground offers remote camping just outside of Salt Lake City.

Windwhistle Campground
Windwhistle Campground, located just 38 miles outside of Moab, is nestled against Roan Bailey Mesa, at approximately 6,000 feet elevation making this campsite slightly cooler than Moab during the summer.
