The U.S. National Park Service has either closed or limited access to many of the National Parks in an effort to help contain the spread of COIVD-19 (Coronavirus). Those that remain open are waiving entrance fees, but with limited operations and services within the park. These include the closures of public buildings such as visitor centers, museums, exhibits and restrooms/showers. Most campgrounds and popular trails are also closed.
Outdoor / open spaces will generally remain available to the public, but because of the limited services the NPS urges visitors to Leave No Trace (pack-in and pack-out everything) so the parks remain clean and safe for everyone.
The following list provides the current COVID-19 status of U.S. National Parks and will be updated weekly. You can also check the National Park Service website for more information, or visit the National Parks Active Alerts page for updates.
