Taku Harbor State Marine Park Overview
Taku Harbor State Marine Park has one (boat-in) cabin is available and sleeps up to 6 people. There is no road access.
The harbor was formerly a major salmon cannery. It is now frequently used as a night anchorage by commercial fishing boats and small tour ships. It is also a popular destination point for Juneau recreational boaters. Taku Harbor offers lots of fishing and crabbing opportunities.
There is one reservable (ocean front) cabin available to rent. It sleeps 6 people and you can stay up to 7 consecutive nights. The cabin has bunk space for 6 adults, but does not have mattresses. Water is available from nearby streams, but must be filtered. The cabin also has a small oil stove for heat (Kerosene must be supplied by user). There is also a vault toilet, picnic table and fire ring on the outside. Pets are okay in the cabin. Cell service is not available.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, crabbing, hiking, picnicking, photography, and wildlife viewing. Winter sports include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
