Buffalo Point Campground is located in a forested area along the banks of the Buffalo National River. There are 82 RV sites (with water & electric hookups), 21 tent only sites, 5 group sites, 21 walk to/boat to sites and 14 cabins available to rent. Most sites are reservable but several are also available for first-come first-serve campers.
The campground is open year round but some services are seasonal (not available in winter). Amenities include drinking water, flush and vault toilets, hot-water showers, trash collection and a dump station. A restaurant is also open during the peak season. Firewood and ice are available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available. Each campsite also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grill.
Walk-in tent sites (loops A, B, D and E) are closed November 15 through March 14. Loop C campsites remain open for free primitive camping (no flush restrooms or electricity) throughout the winter. Loops A, E, and walk-in tent sites F are available strictly on a first come, first served basis.
Group sites are available for 10 (minimum) to 25 (maximum) people per site.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hunting, biking, hiking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.
