  1. Kathryn Robbins says:

Love Maumelle Park it’s my favorite place to park in the summer close to home and have family combined birthdays on a yearly around Memorial Day or the 4th of July!!

  2. Tracie Snodgrass says:

Loved everything except the grass not being mowed and down tree limbs not picked up. We had to side through knee high weeds . We were along the lake edge. Camp host and gate host are super helpful and friendly. We were staying because of going to UAMS.

  3. This place is truly beautiful! The spots are spaced out far apart. It is quiet. You feel like you are in the country but you are only a few short mins from many shops, grocery stores, and entertainment. However, I do not recommend this place for many reasons. One being the infestation of Yellowjackets! I was walking my dogs and we all got attacked. We got stung many times. This should be something they spray for considering it could have easily been a child that was attacked. I get that this can happen anywhere and they can only do so much to control it. But this was literally right behind our camper. Each time we went outside we had to worry about getting stung again. Also, the amount of fire ants! So many mounds of fire ants that will bite you just for walking around in flip flops. Another reason I do not recommend this place is due to the lady who works in the office. She refused to check us in or out during our two week stay because she did not like the discount card we used to book our site on recreation.gov. We purchased an annual America the Beautiful pass for $80 that gives you discounts on certain parks across the country. You can only use this card when booking online. This park only allows you to book online. THE DISCOUNT APPLIED WHEN BOOKING OUR SITE! She sent park rangers to our camper 4 times during our stay. We went to the office at least 4 more times during our stay. All because she said 50% was too much of a discount and she didn’t agree with it. We even called customer service and they said it was A VALID DISCOUNT! There was no need to be harassed during our stay. It totally ruined the experience and we will not be back. (Btw, our friend who told us about this card was camping two sites down from us. She did not get spoken to about her card or her discount on the site that she had used MULTIPLE TIMES already this summer.) Anyways, I mainly made this review in the hopes that others would purchase this pass and use it at the park. It pays for itself within one long camping trip and you can use it at Willow Beach as well! Save money and tell the office lady to calm down. It’s not like I personally took cash from her own pocket…!

    • Carey S says:

Just curious which campsite you selected. We have reservations here, but want to make sure to stay far away from yellow jackets!!

  4. Kirsten Bauman says:

Beautiful campground. Stunning views. Love it!! My only complaint is I am surprised that no one cleans up after their dogs/pets here. Everywhere I walked was feces, in the grass on the sidewalk to the restroom. Even by the picnic tables at the playground. Is this an Arkansas thing not to clean up after your pets or just this campground that allows this?
