Bright Angel campground is located in the bottom of the Grand Canyon along Bright Angel creek and 1/2 mile north of the Colorado River. The campground is accessed via the Bright Angel Trail (about 10 miles from the South Rim), the South Kaibab Trail (about 7 miles from South Rim/ Yaki Point), or via the North Kaibab Trail (14 miles from the North Rim). Campers can spend two consecutive nights at the campground (per hike), except during Nov 15 – Feb 28 when you can stay up to four consecutive nights per hike.

Bright Angel campground has 33 tent campsites. Each site has a table, 2 ammo boxes (to store food) and area to pitch a tent. The campground has a ranger station, drinking water and flush toilets. A Backcountry Permit is required to stay overnight at Bright Angel campground. Phantom Ranch is less than 1/2 mile from the campground and has a snack bar.  You can also have dinner at Phantom Ranch Lodge, but reservations are required in advance (303-2978-2757). Cabins are also available for rent at Phantom Ranch.

Havasupai Gardens campground is located about half way back up (or down) the Bight Angel Trail. It has 16 tent-only campsites.  Cottonwood campground is located off the North Kaibab trail about 7 miles down from the North Rim.
