Crook Campground Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest Arizona

Crook Group Campground is about a mile from Woods Canyon Lake and has two group campsites (loop A and B) with 13 large campsites per group loop. Each of the group areas has it’s own common picnic area with a paved/covered area that includes picnic tables, BBQs and and fire pit.

Campsites are spacious and can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each loop can fit up to 26 vehicles and 110 people. Each campsite also has a paved parking pad, table, fire ring and grate. Electric hookups are not available. ADA sites: B20, B22, A3, A13. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, overflow parking and the common group picnic areas.

Area Recreation & Activities

Woods Canyon Lake is about 3 miles from the campground and offers some great trout fishing, kayaking and paddle-boarding.  The area also has a picnic area (fee), restrooms, and a boat ramp. There is also a general store and marina that rents boats, sells licenses and fishing supplies.

Other activities in the area includes mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking, ATV trail riding and hunting. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area with opportunities to see deer, elk and an occasional black bear

Other campgrounds in the area include Woods Canyon Lake Group, Aspen, Rim and Spillway.
