Grayling Campground is located in the Big Lake Recreation Area and has 23 campsites located close to the shoreline of the lake. The campground is fairly secluded with campsites scattered among Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, spruce and aspen trees. No campsites are waterfront, but some have views of the lake.
Campground amenities include drinking water and flush toilets. Showers and a dump station are also located about a mile away. A store/marina is also nearby with gas, food, boat rentals and firewood for sale. Cell service is poor.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. A few (shared) food storage lockers are also scattered around the campground. All sites have gravel parking pads.
Big Lake is one of Arizona’s top fishing lakes with opportunities to catch rainbow, cutthroat, brook and Apache trout. Other activities include canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, ATVing, hiking, mountain biking, birding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Other campgrounds in the area include Rainbow, Brookchar, Cutthroat and Apache Trout. Luna Lake Campground is also nearby.
