Jacob Lake Campground is located just 44 miles from the North Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon. It has 51 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs (30 to 40 feet). Group camping is also available. There are no hookups.
The campground is open mid-May to mid-October and is adjacent to the highway. Some campsites are next to the road. The campground has a campfire center, drinking water, vault toilets and a campground host. There’s also a restaurant, gift shop/store and gas station across the street. The campground is one mile from Jacob Lake. However, water levels vary throughout the season. Each campsite has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate.
Jacob Lake Recreation area is the gateway to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim and is a good alternate if the North Rim Campground is full. Outdoor activities in the area include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.
Demotte Campground is also just 17 miles away. It has 38 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs.
