Kartchner Caverns State Park campground has 64 single-family sites with electric hookups and is located off the main road past the Discovery Center. Cabins are also available for rent. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and dump station. There’s also a visitor center, Discovery Center, gift shop, theater and vending machines.
The main attraction is the stunning limestone (living) cave that boats an incredible variety of unique minerals and formats. Water percolates from the surface and calcite formations continue to grow, including stalactites dripping down like icicles and giant stalagmites reaching up from the ground. Tours are about an hour. There’s also a Discovery Center, which features museums exhibits, a large gift shop, regional displays, theater, and educational information about the caverns and the surrounding landscape. Other outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.
You may also like the campgrounds at Colossal Cave Mountain Park and Bonita Canyon.

Visited the area a coulee of weeks ago.Wonderful campground. Beautiful surroundings. Walking distance to the Kartchner Caverns. Many hiking trails that allow a full view of the large valley below. The caverns were amazing. We will definitely go again. Sierra Vista and Tombstone are a short drive away. Great stay at Kartchner Caverns.
We had a great time in the park! We were at #33 and did not realize how close it was to the cabin in front of us. It was just a tiny bit awkward but it ended up being okay. When the cabin turned on the light at night, it was not that pleasant for stargazing. But overall, great walking distance to the bathroom. Level campground. The park was amazing, the tour is a must-do!
