Luna Lake Campground Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest Arizona
Luna Lake Overview
Luna Lake Campground has spacious 50 single-family campsites within a stand of ponderosa pines and is about 1/4 mile from the lakeshore. Thirty-two campsites are reservable and the rest are first-come, first-serve. Three group campsites (A, B and C) are also next to the campground.
Campground is usually open mid/late May through mid October. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. A picnic/day-use area is about a mile away and has picnic tables, vault toilets, a boat ramp, a tacke shop and boat rentals. Cell service is good in the area.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 32 feet). Hookups are not available. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Other campgrounds in the area include Rainbow, Grayling, Brookchar, Apache Trout and Cutthroat.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

May 7: Campground NOT open. Fortunately found a USFS campground down 180 about 10 miles
You’re correct – Luna Lake hasn’t opened yet but it looks like it’ll open next week. It usually opens mid May. Glad you were able to find a campsite at another campground in the area.
