Sharp Creek campground has 23 single-family campsites set up in 4 loops and is located near the small village of Christopher Creek in the Tonto National Forest. Juniper Loop Units # 23 and 24 are pull-through, and Unit # 27 is accessible. Oak Loop Units # 11, 14, and 18 are pull-through, and unit # 13 is accessible. Unit #13 (in Pine Tent Loop) is accessible.
The campground is open early April through October (weather/snow permitting). Campsites can accommodate tents, and small trailers and RVs. Group camping is also available. Each campsite also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. A dump station is also located at nearby Ponderosa campground. Cell service is good.
Outdoor recreation includes hiking, mountain biking, fishing (at nearby Christopher Creek), horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The winter also offers cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
