Sinkhole Overview

Sinkhole Bathroom

Sinkhole campground has 26 single-family (mixed use) campsites and is located in a dandy Ponderosa pine forest at an elevation of 7,560 feet.  There’s a nice (short) trail from the campground to Willow Springs Lake where you can throw a line in the water to catch some fish.

Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, lantern post, fire ring and grate.  Sites 14-26 are reservable and sites 1-13 are first-come, first-served. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Cell service is fair.

Sinkhole – Area Recreation

Other outdoor recreation includes mountain biking, hiking, fishing, photography, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  Be prepared for some weather in the monsoon season of late July through early September.

You may also like Canyon Point campground. It’s about 5 miles to the east on AZ-260.
