Spencer Canyon campground is located at an elevation of 8,000 feet up in the beautiful Santa Catalina Mountains above Tucson. The campground has 68 first-come, first-serve campsites and sits in a forested canyon of large Ponderosa pines. There are plenty of nice campsites here and site #57 is first rate for watching the fireworks over Tucson on July 4th.
Campground amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, food storage locker, fire ring and grill.
Spencer Canyon campground offers a great place to escape the heat of the summer and enjoy the wildlife. The town of Summerhaven is also close by if you run out of supplies.
Other campgrounds in the area include Colossal Cave Mountain Park, Molino Basin and Gordon Hirabayashi Recreation Area.
