Temple Bar campground has 152 campsites and is located where the Colorado River pretty much becomes Lake Mead. The area is remote, but there are some creature comforts including a nice marina, boat rentals, a camp store, motel, cabins and boat ramp. The campground doesn’t always open up all of the sites, but usually campsites 1-71 are available.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station. As mentioned, there’s also a camp store down by the marina. The store sells ice, wood, food and other supplies. Cell service is not available.
The Temple Marina RV Park is also available. It has 10 full hookup campsites.
Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water sports, swimming, hiking, piking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
In addition to Temple Bar campground, the 7 other campgrounds in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area include Katherine Landing, Cottonwood Cove, Las Vegas Bay, Willow Beach, Echo Bay, Callville Bay and Boulder Beach.
Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers striking landscapes and brilliant blue water. The area offers a fabulous outdoor playground spread across a landscape of geologic wonders, Lake Mead, Lake Mohave and the Colorado River. The unusual combination of desert and water is home to 900 species of plants and 500 species of animals. Lake Mead National Recreation Area has 8 visitor areas, 5 marinas, boat rentals, restaurants, hiking and biking trails, and 8 developed campgrounds.
