Windy Hill campground has 165 campsites and is located next to Arizona’s largest lake (Lake Roosevelt) and is in the Tonto National Forest. Windy Hill campground had 347 campsites, but that has been reduced to 165 (sites 1 to 51 and sites 234-348). There are 137 reservable and the rest are first-come first-serve.  If you’d prefer to camp next to a spooky old cemetery, then campsites 248 and 249 are your ticket!

Amenities include and it has drinking water, flush toilets, showers, a and a dump station. There’s also a playground, picnic area and amphitheater. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 32 feet). Each campsite also has a shade ramada, fire ring, grill and picnic table.

Windy Hill – Area Recreation

The Lake Roosevelt area offers a variety of outdoor recreation including: boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, water sports, hiking, biking, OTV riding, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.

Cholla Campground is also on Roosevelt Lake. It has 206 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs.
