Benbow Lake SRA Campground has 75 single-family campsites and is located next to the South Fork Eel River and surrounded by conifer-covered hills. Be advised that you will have some freeway noise from Highway 101. Although there is no longer a lake here, the area offers a variety of outdoor recreation.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers and dump station. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers (up to 24 feet) and RVs (up to 30 feet). Two campsites (76 & 77) have electric hookups. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Hike & bike campsites are also available. Firewood is also available for purchase at the campground. Generators can be operated between 10am and 8pm. Check in time is 2pm and check out is 12pm.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, swimming, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

We camped at site 12 and it looks nothing like the pictures. People should also know about the one way heavily pot holed road, it’s not great if you’re pulling a small trailer!

We took the photos of the campsites in mid 2022 so they are all current. What was different about site #12? Did they cut some trees down?
