Black Miners Bar Group Campground (formerly known as Negro Bar) has 3 tent camping group sites located next to Lake Natoma in Folsom Lake Recreation Area.
The historical use of the name appears in reference to Black miners during the gold rush including from an 1850 newspaper article noting Black miners finding gold at this location in 1848.
Group sites ‘A’ and ‘B’ can have up to 50 people and 25 vehicles per site. Group site C can have up to 25 people and 12 vehicles. The paved parking area is about 200 feet to the campsites. Each site has picnic tables, fire pits and grills. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and trash collection. There’s also a boat ramp, boat trailer lot, picnic area, walking and horse trails.
Outdoor recreation includes boating, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Other Folsom Lake SRA campgrounds include Beals Point, Peninsula and Granite Bay (primitive boat-in sites).
