Black Springs OHV Campground has 8 large (first-come, first-serve) campsites set in a forested area at an elevation of 6,500 feet in Stanislaus National Forest. The campground is popular with Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) campers as there are many trails nearby. The Black Springs day use OHV staging area is also next to the campground.
Campsites are large and spread out with nice room between neighboring sites. Each site has a gravel parking area (up to 60 feet), table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grill. Amenities include vault toilets. Drinking water and trash service are not provided. Cell service is poor in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes OHV trail riding, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing.
Wakalu Hep Yo Campground is 16 miles away and is next to the Stanislaus River (North Fork).
