Blue Lake Campground Modoc National Forest California

Blue Lake Overview

Blue Lake 002

Blue Lake Campground offers 48 large, single-family campsites and is located next to Blue Lake in the Modoc National Forest. Our photographer said this is one of his favorite campgrounds!

Sites have plenty of shade and can accommodate tents, trailers or RVs. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. All single-family campsites are first-come, first-serve. The group campsite is reservable online. Most campsites are large and can accommodate RVs, but not particularly level. Campsites 32 and 40 are pull thru sites. Our favorite sites are 14, 16 and 17 because they back up to a nice meadow.

Campground amenities include potable/drinking water (most of the time), vault toilets and trash recycling. Campsite #11 host and sells firewood. A boat ramp is also near the campground.

Blue Lake – Area Recreation

Outdoor recreation includes boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Mill Creek Falls campground is another option and is about 13 miles to the north.
