Blue Lakes Basin Overview
Blue Lakes Basin has 111 campsites in 4 different campgrounds set in a beautiful alpine valley along the shores of Blue Lake at an elevation of 8,100 feet. The campgrounds include Lower Blue Lake (17 sites), Middle Creek (39 sites), Upper Blue Lake (31) and Upper Blue Dam (24 sites). The PG&E campgrounds have drinking water and vault toilets. Each campsite also has a table fire ring and grill. Firewood is also available for sale at the campground.
The area offers a variety of outdoor recreation including boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. There’s also some nice hiking and mountain biking trails in the area.
Silver Lake Eldorado Campground is also nearby. It’s about 23 miles and has 51 campsites.
