Brannan Island State Recreation Area Overview

Brannan Island State Recreation Area has a beautiful campground with 140 campsites (91 standard, 13 tent only, 11 RV/trailer only, 6 group, 4 day use and 1 cabin).  The developed campsites are in a few camping areas including Willow (sites 1-50), Cottonwood (sites 51-102), Olympic (sites 103-115). There area also 12 walk-to (tent only) campsites (sites 116-128), 1 cabin (‘Camp Colony’), and group camping at Sacramento Group area.

All of the developed campsites have paved pads, a table, fire ring and grill. Almost all campsites are very large with ample space between neighbors. Maximum trailer/RV size is 36 feet. The campground has a campfire center, picnic area, drinking water, flush toilets, showers and an RV dump station. There’s also a marina, boat slip rentals and boat ramp.

Brannan Island State Recreation Area

The area includes many waterways through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta northeast of San Francisco Bay. The area is popular for its water-oriented recreation including fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing and wildlife viewing.

Mt. Diablo State Park is another place you may want to check out. It’s about 45 miles south and has 58 campsites in 3 campgrounds.
