Brannan Island State Recreation Area has a beautiful campground with 140 campsites (91 standard, 13 tent only, 11 RV/trailer only, 6 group, 4 day use and 1 cabin). All campsites have paved pads, a table, fire ring and grill. Almost all campsites are very large with ample space between neighbors. Maximum trailer/RV size is 36 feet. The campground has a campfire center, picnic area, drinking water, flush toilets, showers and an RV dump station. Group and hike/bike campsites area also available. There’s also a marina and boat ramp.
The area includes many waterways through the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta northeast of San Francisco Bay. The area is popular for its water-oriented recreation including fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing and wildlife viewing.
Mt. Diablo State Park is another place you may want to check out. It’s about 45 miles south and has 58 campsites in 3 campgrounds.

What are your policies towards dogs?
Hi Kim,
Dogs are allowed in the campground area at Brannan Island State Recreation Area. The must also be kept on leash. They are not allowed on the beach or in the day-use/picnic area.
Service dogs only are allowed in the picnic area north of the restrooms, along Seven Mile Slough. At Seven Mile Slough and Windy Cove; beaches are off limits to dogs.
What’s the difference between Cottonwood and Willow?
