Brush Creek Campground has free dispersed camping in a large dirt lot area and is located next to where the creek enters the Wild & Scenic Upper Kern River.
The camping area is open year-round and is first come, first serve. Amenities include vault toilets and seasonal trash containers, but no drinking water is available. There are also no tables. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes rafting, kayaking, fishing, hiking, picnicking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Wildlife viewing is also nice here. Lake Isabella is also about 9 miles away and offers a variety of water sports including water-skiing, sail-boarding, fishing, swimming and other activities. The Avenue of the Giants is also about 25 miles up the road and features a stand of giant Sequoia trees.
Other campgrounds in the area include Fairview, Limestone and Chamise Flat (dispersed).
