Buckeye Campground Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest California
Buckeye Overview
Buckeye Creek campground is reached on a 3 mile (well-maintained) dirt road and has 65 single-family campsites under a forest of Jeffrey and Lodgepole pines near Bridgeport. The first-come, first-serve campground offers a peaceful and quiet camping experience and is also located next to Buckeye Creek.
Campground amenities include one flush toilet and 3 vault toilets. There is not water available. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 35 feet). Each site also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grate. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host.
Buckeye – Area Recreation
Outdoor activities include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Buckeye Hot Springs is also just a few miles east from the campground and is a nice place to soak with ‘open-minded’ folks. Some hiking trails to check out include along the creek into the nearby Hoover Wilderness. Also hiking along Eagle creek to the flanks of Eagle Mountain is nice.
Other campgrounds in the area (about 5 miles down the hill) include Honeymoon Flat, Robinson Creek and PaHa.
