Bushay Recreation Area Campground is located on the northeast shore of Lake Mendocino and has 136 single-family campsites. Group camping is also available. Many campsites have great views of the lake.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault & flush toilets, showers, trash collection, dump station, an amphitheater and a picnic/day-use area. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is good in the area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 61 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. A horse staging area is located in the campground near the Kaweyo Trailhead.
The group camping areas include Deer Camp (10 sites / 80 people max), Little Bear (15 / 12 people max) and TaTa (13 / 104 people max).
Other campgrounds in the area include Kyen and Chekaka Recreation Area. You might also like Liberty Glen Campground over by Lake Sonoma.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
