Camp 9 Overview
There are also 11 group campsites available. Most campsites are first-come, first-serve but 34 are reservable (including 5 group campsites). Most sites have very limited shade and summer temps can reach 100 degrees.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets, an RV dump station and trash collection. A boat ramp, floating dock and fish cleaning station are also next to the campground. Campsites can accommodate, tents, trailers and RVs (up to 40 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Cell services is good in the area.
There are several campgrounds located around the lake with the closest being Tillie Creek, Live Oak South and Live Oak North. Additional campgrounds can be found on the Upper Kern River (north of Kernville) with the closest being Headquaters and Halfway Group.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, water skiing, windsurfing, paddle-boarding, sailing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Whitewater kayaking and rafter are also popular on the Upper Kern River.
