Cherry Valley Campground has 41 campsites and 5 double campsites. It is located on a hill above Cherry Lake in the Stanislaus National Forest. You’ll need to drive about 23 miles on a winding mountain road, but you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful and secluded camping experience.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs, but keep in mind you’ll be traveling on a tight, twisting mountain road for 23 miles (after exiting Highway 120). Each campsite also has a table, food storage locker and fire ring. Up to 2 vehicles and 6 people are permitted in single sites. Double sites include 14, 22, 25, 33 and 39. Campsites 30, 32 and 33 have peaks of the water.
The campground does not have potable water due to drought conditions. Vault toilets are available. There are no hookups or dump stations. Cell service is also not available. Firewood can be purchased from the camp host.
Outdoor recreation in the are includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.
You may also like Dimond O Campground. Lost Claim and Sweetwater campgrounds are also just off Highway 120.
