Cold Creek Overview

Cold Creek Campground has 13 campsites and is located along side of the creek and Highway 89 in the Tahoe National Forest. Campsites are on the small side (best suited for tents or smalls RVs). Jeffrey pine and white fir trees cover half the campground, while the other half is closer to the creek among cottonwoods, willow and aspen trees. Campsites 6 – 8 are walk-to sites (about 40-50 feet from parking area).

The campground has vault toilets and trash collection. Water is not available but you can bring your own or fill up at Cottonwood Creek Campground (less than a mile away). Sierraville is also about 4.5 miles away if you need supplies. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Cell service is not available.

Area Recreation & Activities

Cold Creek offers rainbow trout fishing and swimming. Other activities in the area include hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Lake Tahoe is close too, only 35 miles to the south, and offers a variety of outdoor recreation.
