Crane Valley Group Campground has 7 campsites located in a cedar and pine forest next to Bass Lake in the Sierra National Forest. None of the sites have views of the lake, but campers can easily access to the recreational opportunities in the area.
The group campground is open year-round and has vault toilets but not a drop of water to drink (so remember to bring your own). Trash collection is provided and cell service is good.
Campsites can accommodate from 12 to 30 people. Each site also has tables, fire rings and grills.
Other campgrounds in the general area include Soquel, Cedar Bluff, Chilkoot, Forks, Kelty Meadow, Lupine, Recreation Point, Spring Cove and Wishon.
Nearby Bass Lake is a popular recreation area. Activities here include motorized and non-motorized boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, sailing and water skiing. Anglers can also fish in Chilkoot Creek for channel catfish, sucker and brown trout. Other nearby activities include hiking the Buena Vista trail and paddling on Willow Creek. Yosemite National Park is also just an hour drive from the campground. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.
