Forks campground has 26 single-family campsites and is located at 7,800 feet in elevation near the junction of the South Fork and the Middle Fork of Bishop Creek. Most of the campsites are set among aspen and pine trees and a few sites (18-22) are next to Bishop Creek. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Bearproof food storage containers are also available in the campground.
Our favorite Forks campsites are: 17, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 24.
Forks campground has drinking water, 2 vault toilets and 2 flush toilets. There are no hookups. Pets are okay, but must be on a leash. Firewood is available for sale from the campground host.
Outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, mountain biking, horseback riding, OHV riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. In regards to wildlife viewing, this is an active bear area so please keep that food stored properly.
Other campgrounds in the area include Four Jeffrey, Bishop Park, Bitterbrush, Big Trees and Sabrina.

Are the campgrounds open planning on the 5th to the 9th of August. Love the site and would like to know if it is open?
Hi Mike,
Unfortunately the forest serve still has Forks campground closed and I doubt they’ll open it up this year.
You can check status here: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/inyo/recarea/?recid=20338
I’m camping at Forks next week and was wondering if there are food storage lockers/bear boxes? Thanks
Hi Michael,
All Forks campsites have a food storage locker/bear box. Have a great time!
Hello. I was hoping to camp at Forks in a couple weeks and on recreation.gov, it appears that there are many sites available to reserve. However, the usda.gov link for this campground says reservations are not allowed. Can you please clarify?
Hi Zachariah,
The usda.gov link has not been updated. Forks campground/campsites are now reservable on Rec.gov.
Been here before and I want too go again and am looking to stay on one of the camp sites next too the creek which number are those sites, it won’t show me in the website
Hi Alejandro,
Campsite 18-22 are closest or next to the creek at Forks Campground.
