Fremont Peak State Park Campground (Valley View and Oak Point) has 25 primitive tent campsites and a handful of RV spots (up to 25 feet). There is also one group camping area that is some distance from the general camping area. Hike/bike campsites are also available.
Amenities include potable/drinking water and pit toilets. Showers are not available. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. Wood and charcoal files are allowed, but you must bring your own wood to burn.
The park is a popular astronomical observation area (there’s even a 30-inch telescope, which is open to the public) and it also offers dandy views of Monterey Bay. The observatory has public education viewings from April to October (on Saturdays). With its limited light pollution, the park is also an ideal location from which to view the stars.
Outdoor recreation includes hiking, mountain biking, photography, geocaching, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Henry W. Coe State Park is about a 36 drive to the north and Pinnacles National Park is 47 miles to the south.

Hi,
Sorry, we have not been able to locate a map of Valley View campground at Fremont Peak State Park. If we do – we will post it.
OMG!! Is it really true that there are NO available campsites ALL YEAR at the Valley View Campground – Fremont Peak State Park??
Hi Arion,
News to us! I checked and also saw that Valley View campground has no availability this year. That may indicate it is closed (perhaps for refurbishing). I called Fremont Peak State Park to check, but just got a recording (no info on Valley View campground). We will post any updates once we learn of them.
We stayed at the Oak Point sites from 10/3-10/5/2022. There were no other campers at the park during our entire there, only a few day users. It was like having a private park. The view to the valley was amazing and our site was flat and big. The only annoying thing was there were a lot of horse flies all through the day. Even our poor dogs were bothered. We were glad to leave because of that.
