Gold Ledge campground has 37 campsites and is perched on the banks of the Upper Kern River about 10 miles north of Kernville.  There are several campsites along the river and many have shade from a variety of trees. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and small RVs (up to 30 feet). Sites 6-11 are ‘walk to’ sites. Each campsite also has a paved parking spur, table, fire ring and grate. There are no hookups. Amenities include drinking water and vault toilets.

Gold Ledge – Area Recreation

Rafting, kayaking and fishing are very popular along the Upper Kern. Other outdoor recreation includes swimming, mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, backpacking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing.  Lake Isabella is also just 5 miles away and offers a variety of water sports. The campground is also about 40 miles south of a large stand of giant Sequoia Trees (“The Trail of the Giants”).

Other Upper Kern River campgrounds include: Headquarters, Limestone, Fairview, Hospital Flat and Camp Three.
