Grays Meadow Upper Campground has 35 campsites along Independence Creek in the Onion Valley area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, storage locker, fire ring and grate.
Grays Meadow consists of an upper and lower campground with the creek bordering one side of the campground. Campsites 40, 41, 46 and 51 are closest to the water. Most of the campground is located in a large oak grove, providing shade.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available for purchase from the campground host. Cell service is poor in the area.
Popular outdoor activities include backpacking, hiking, fishing and picnicking There’s also abundant wildlife in the area, including black bear, mountain lions, mule deer, pine marten, pika and many species of fish and birds.
