Hartley Springs Overview
Hartley Springs Campground has FREE 25 campsites in a pine forest and is located near the tributaries of the Owens River headwaters. Campsites are large and are first-come, first-serve at this primitive/remote campground.
The campground is generally open mid-May to mid-September and access is via gravel roads (Obsidian Dome Road then north on Forest Road 2S48).
Amenities include vault toilets. Piped water is not available. Campsites are large and can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, food storage locker (bear box), fire ring and grill.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation in the area includes ATVing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Stargazing is also really nice!
Other campgrounds in the area include: Glass Creek and Oh Ridge over in the June Lake area.
