Henry W Coe State Park Campground has 20 drive-in campsites located on top of an open ridge with breathtaking views across the canyons of the backcountry. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. Group camping, hike/bike campsites and other primitive campsites are also available here. The campground has drinking water and flush toilets.
Henry W Coe State Park is the largest state park in northern California, with over 87,000 acres of wild open spaces. It is a very popular destination for hiking, horse back riding, mountain biking, backpacking, picnicking and photography
Wildlife viewing is also popular at the Park with a wide variety of plants and animals. The elusive mountain lion can also be spotted on occasion.
Other outdoor activities include boating and fishing at nearby Anderson Lake and exploring historic/cultural sites.
Within Henry W. Coe State Park are also the headwaters of Coyote Creek, as well as long stretches of the Pacheco and Orestimba creeks.
Coyote Lake Park Lakeview Campground is another option. It’s about 11 miles from Henry W. Coe State Park.
