Holcomb Valley Campground San Bernardino National Forest California

Big Bear, California
909 382-2790

Holcomb Valley campground is located at an elevation of 7,400 feet among a beautiful grove of large pine trees. The campground has 19 first-come, first-served campsites and is open year round (weather and roads permitting). The area typically gets heavy snow in the winter months.

The campground has vault toilets, but no potable water. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grill. However, fire-restrictions are in place an no campfires are allowed at this time.

This is a great place to ride mountain bikes, motorcycles and Off Road Vehicles, as well as hike, horseback ridge, rock climb, picnic, explore old historic mining sites, or just kick back under the big trees.

A few other campgrounds in the area are: Pine Knot, Serrano, Big Pine Flat and Hanna Flat. Tanglewood Group Camp is also 2.5 miles away.

Great memories of Holcomb Valley scout reservation as a young boy scout

  3. Jennifer Marlow says:

We had planned to camp out along the trail this weekend but the snow we were anticipating was way more than expected so we pulled in for the night. Spots are easy access and roomy. There were a few others who were crazy enough to camp out in the 7°f temps this weekend. Would love to go back when there’s no snow.
