Hole-In-The-Wall Campground is located in a remote area of the Mojave National Preserve with spectacular views of volcanic rock walls and the surrounding mountains. The campground has 35 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. Two walk-in tent campsites are also available. All campsites are first-come, first-served and can accommodate up to 2 vehicles and 8 people.
Hole-In-The-Wall Campground has a dump station, vault toilets and drinking water. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. There’s no shade here, so bringing a pop-up awning is a good idea. Black Canyon Group & Equestrian Campground is also available nearby. Cell service is not available in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, horseback riding, stargazing, photography, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Be sure to check out the visitor center and “rings loop” trail that will take you through the “hole in the wall.” Both are located next to each other and about 1/2 mile from the campground.
Nearby Providence Mountains State Recreation Area also has many areas to explore on foot, horse or on your OHV. Mitchell Caverns is also just 16 miles away from the campground and worth the visit.
Mid Hills Campground is located about 8 miles away. The road is dirt and challenging in spots, but most vehicles can make it. It has 26 primitive campsites (no water/vault toilets).
