Horse Camp has 5 equestrian campsites (first-come, first-serve) located in a forested area near a large meadow in Sequoia National Forest. The well-maintained campground is at 7,600 feet in elevation an generally open mid June to late October.

This Campground is operated in cooperation with Sequoia National Forest and Back Country Horsemen of California – San Joaquin Sierra Unit.

The spacious campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 50 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring, grill and horse corrals/stalls. Campfire permits required for campfires, barbeques, and camp stoves.  Amenities include vault toilets, a manure bin and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is also not available in the area.

Horse Camp – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation includes horseback riding, mountain biking, OHV trail riding, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Some of the creeks in the area also have decent fishing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Big Meadow and Buck Rock. Big Meadows Cabin is also nearby and available to reserve.
