Horseshoe Bend Lake McClure campground has 97 campsites and is located on the northern shores of Lake McClure just a few miles from the historic town of Coulterville. There are 35 sites with water & electric hookups, and the rest are standard-single family campsites. The campground has 5 loops (A, B, C, D, E, F and G). G-loop sites are on top of a hill with great views of the lake. They also all have water & electric hookups. Campsites 8 to 18 are all walk-in (tent-only).
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, a dump station, camp store (seasonal), fish cleaning station and boat launch ramp. There is also a day use/picnic area, swimming lagoon & picnic area, and fish cleaning station. Campsites also have a table, fire ring and grate.
The recreation area is operated by the Merced Irrigation District and features a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. On the water visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, water skiing and swimming. On land you can also enjoy mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, horseshoes, and wildlife viewing. Yosemite National Park is also just 47 miles away.
Other campgrounds in the area include Barrett Cove, McClure Point, Lake McSwain and Bagby.
