Hotelling Campground Klamath National Forest California
Hotelling Overview
Hotelling Campground has 4 first-come, first-serve campsites next to the South Fork of the Salmon River. Although the campground sign was voted best in the area, Hotelling is on the primitive and rustic side.
Camping next to the river is a highlight but you’ll need to watch your step because you may stumble over large rock piles that the miners (Chinese laborers) piled up to try and get to the gold in the river many years ago.
Campground amenities include vault toilets. Potable (drinking) water is not available but you can filter from the river. Garbage services not provided so please pack out all your own trash. The nearest dump station is in Etna. Cell service is not available in the area. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 20 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.
Other campgrounds in the area include Matthews Creek, Trail Creek and East Fork. Nordheimer Group Campground is also 8 miles away.
