Jalama Beach County Park is all by itself on a beautiful, unspoiled and secluded beach about an hour’s drive from Santa Barbara. The campground has 109 campsites for tents, trailers and RVs overlooking the ocean or beachfront. There are 31 campsites with electric hookups and also several cabins available for rent as well. Group camping is also available.
Jalama Beach County Park campground has a camp store, gift shot, restaurant, drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station and a picnic area. Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate.
Outdoor recreation includes surfing, fishing, windsurfing, hiking, biking and wildlife viewing. And although the water is a bit chilly, you can swim here (lifeguards on duty during the summer).
Refugio State Beach is about 45 minutes south and has 66 campsites available right next to the beach.

How current are the beachfront photos? My understanding is there are no hedges between sites any longer. Thank you!
Can you please put up some updated photos? I have been told there are no more hedges in the beachfront sites. Thank you!!
Hi Laurel,
We reshot Jalama Beach County Park a few years ago but I’ll see if we can schedule a photographer to get it done again that show beachfront sites without the hedges.
Hi, have you taken resent beachfront spot pictures?
Hi Dayna,
Yes – we have pictures of the beachfront campsites at Jalama Beach County Park. Those campsites are 53 to 64. You can view the photos in our photo viewer.
is there a reason the photos stop showing at 105 106 through 117 are not shown
HI Chip,
Those campsites exist, it’s just that the occupants didn’t want us to photograph the site. We will try and get those photographed in the future.
Beautiful walking beach and great burgers at the cafe. Spots are a little small but the beach makes up for that. Strong winds when we were there-glad we had a camping van rather than a tent.
